AFL Grand Final Results
Another AFL London season draws to a close with a successful Grand Final day in South West London. The rain had to make a show for the day but it was brief and didn't disrupt too much.
In the first game of the day, the Social Division, the Reading Roos were looking to retain their 2012 flag over the ever-present Ealing Emus, and the Roos proved too strong for the Emus winning by 3 goals.
The Conference game was next on the schedule with the almost outright owners of this flag, Shepherds Bush Raiders, coming up against the same Regents Park Lions, a repeat of the 2012 Grand Final. Unfortunately, the Lions couldn't shake off the Raiders for a second year with the Raiders coming out on top by about 3 goals.
The big game of the day was the Premiership Division where the West London Wildcats faced the North London Lions - a West versus North contest. The Wildcats were trying to regain the flag they last won in 2011 whilst the Lions were looking to retain their flag from last year. In windy conditions, the Wildcats raced off to a nearly 4 goal lead in the 1st quarter but the lions roared back in the 2nd. The Wildcats again outkicked the Lions in the 3rd with 3 unanswered goals so the Lions were looking for a big 4th quarter to overhaul the Wildcats lead. Although they kicked 3 goals to the Wildcats 1, it wasn't enough to retain the flag and the Wildcats started their celebrations on hearing the siren.

Best EU player in the Premiership was James Talbot of the Lions and the Best on Ground was Gavin Bowles of the Wildcats.
A big thank you to all the clubs for a great season and a successful finals series. See you again in 2014!
